2016 Russian River Rodeo Queen – Jordan Wathen

Jordan Wathen is a 20 year-old resident of Petaluma, California where she has grown up her entire life. She currently attends the Santa Rosa Junior College working on a Criminal Justice degree with a minor in Communications in order to transfer to a four-year university. Along with being a student, Jordan also works part-time at Circle Oak Equine in Petaluma as a veterinary technician assistant emphasizing on rehabilitation of injured horses. In her spare time, Jordan enjoys exploring Sonoma County recreational parks, spending time with her horse Blue, who she rides today, and has taken up an interest in skydiving. She has also worked with the Sonoma County Horse Council as they set up the semi-annual Equus awards banquet that recognizes supporters of the horse community.

Jordan is a believer in the idea of if you keep doing what you’re doing, you’re going to keep getting what you’re getting. As she runs for Miss Russian River Rodeo she stands by this motto. She believes that there is always opportunity to better yourself and expand your knowledge and this is a message she hopes to reflect back to all ages of the rodeo community.

Jordan would like to thank Ron and Sara Malone of Circle Oak Equine, Kristine Stewart of Crossroads Ranch Riding Stable, her parents Ron and Virginia, friends and family, as well as her loved ones that are unable to attend today that have always supported her to strive higher.
